Another option to report a claim is via e-mail within 24 hours of the incident (or as soon as possible):

In the e-mail, include the following information:

  • Name of business
  • Policy Number
  • Reporting party’s contact information (name, phone, e-mail)
  • The name, phone and e-mail address of injured employee
  • Date of incident
  • Location of incident (address and/or city, state)
  • Description of incident

Prominently display the notice where each employee is likely to see the notice on a regular basis.

What is the waiting period for lost wages in Maryland:

No payment is due for the first 3 days of disability unless the disability lasts longer than 14 days, then the first 3 days will be paid retroactively. If the employee was not paid for the day on which the accident, the Commission counts that day as 1 of the 3 days in the waiting period.
