What is the waiting period for lost wages in Nebraska:

Compensation benefits are due beginning the 8th calendar day of disability when a compensable injury causes a worker to miss time from work. Compensation for the first 7 days of the disability or lost time is not paid unless the employee’s disability lasts 6 weeks or more. If the lost time exceeds 6 weeks benefits are owed and payable for the entirety of the duration, meaning the first 7 day waiting period may be paid retroactively.

The day of injury is included in the 7 day waiting period; A partial day of disability or time away from work on the date of injury is considered a full calendar day for the purposes of the waiting and retroactive period calculation. The days of disability do not need to be consecutive to count. Time lost from work for less than a day to seek medical care, including physical or medical rehabilitation, is compensated as temporary partial disability (TPD).
