Another option to report a claim is via e-mail within 24 hours of the incident (or as soon as possible):

In the e-mail, include the following information:

  • Name of business
  • Policy Number
  • Reporting party’s contact information (name, phone, e-mail)
  • The name, phone and e-mail address of injured employee
  • Date of incident
  • Location of incident (address and/or city, state)
  • Description of incident

Information for Employers

What is the waiting period for lost wages in New York:

No payment is due for the first 7 days of disability unless the disability lasts longer than 14 days, then the first 7 days will be paid retroactively. For purposes of calculating the waiting period, the day of the injury is included unless the employee was paid full wages for that day.
