Certificate of Insurance (COI)


What is a COI?

A certificate of insurance is proof of your workers’ compensation insurance. The COI includes your policy number, policy effective date, certificate holder, and liability limits.

How do I get a COI?

Log into your online account to create a COI. You’ll be able to choose between an instant COI and a custom COI based on your certificate needs.

How long is a COI valid?

A COI is valid for the entire policy period.

Waivers


What’s a Waiver of Subrogation?

A Waiver of Subrogation waives Pie’s rights to sue a specific entity.

How do I get a Waiver of Subrogation, and what does it cost?

Email your Waiver of Subrogation request to service[at]pieinsurance.com, including this information:

  1. Name of company requesting
  2. Mailing address of company requesting
  3. Work to be performed (not class codes)

You can expect a waiver and/or a response within 2 business days.

You will be charged for each Waiver of Subrogation request. The cost depends on state rules and will be shared with you on an individual basis.

What’s a Blanket Waiver?

A Blanket Waiver waives all entities’ rights to sue a specific entity.

How do I get a Blanket Waiver, and what does it cost?

Email your Blanket Waiver request to service[at]pieinsurance.com, including this information:

  1. Name of company requesting
  2. Mailing address of company requesting
  3. Work to be performed (not class codes)

You can expect a waiver and/or a response within 2 business days.

You will be charged for each Blanket Waiver request. The cost depends on state rules and will be shared with you on an individual basis.

Additional Insured


Does workers’ compensation insurance offered by Pie Insurance cover additional insured?

No, workers’ compensation as an insurance product does not cover additional insured.

Billing & Payments


Why don’t I receive a bill?

As an online company, Pie does not send invoices. After you choose a payment plan, you’re all set for automatic billing! Need a refresher? Review your selected payment plan in the policy documents attached to your Welcome Email.

How can I make a payment?

For your convenience, you can pay by credit card or ACH (bank). We do not accept checks.

If you would like to change your payment method at any time, please email service@pieinsurance.com, and we will send you a secure self-serve link.

Policy Renewal


When will I know it’s time to renew my policy?

Approximately 30 days before the end of your current policy period, you’ll receive a renewal quote for your review and acceptance.
